Church History Tour

We had an opportunity to see some of the sites of the birthplace of the church and visit with Elder and Sister Gray in Palmyra. Since I cannot get into my India file right now, I am going to use this as a learning time and show you some pictures of significant church history places. This is the banks of the Susquehanna River where the Aaronic Priesthood was restored May 15, 1929. John the Baptist appeared and gave Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery the Aaronic Priesthood then Joseph baptized Oliver and Oliver baptized Joseph. President Spencer W. Kimball had brothern accompaning him drive a stake in the ground where this event took place. The Grandon Press is where the Book of Mormon was printed in 1830.

Why are my pictures all at the top??? I wanted them to be in the script. Oh well, I am on my blog. The white house with the fence around it is the home that Alvin Smith was building for his family before he died. It is just down the lane from the log home. It was here that Joseph with the help of his family and close friend, dug a place for the plates under the hearth stone, and put the hearth stone back in place. The mob did not find it when they entered his home searching for the plates.

The log home was the first home of the Prophet Joseph and his family. It has been restored on the property owned by the Smiths, and now the church owns it.

Hey Mom!!
I dont know how you are "spost" to put in the pictures...but I always put in my pictures first. (The one I want at top in last and the one I want at the bottom in first...) Then I put the curser when I type. That is the only way I have figured out how to get the pictures where I want and my text to actualy go along with what I wrote!
I love you and am glad to see you back here.
